Highbridge’s new Aldi supermarket is set to open next week, the firm has confirmed.
Signs have been installed outside the new supermarket on the Isleport Business Park, just off Bennett Road, revealing the opening date as next Thursday, August 23rd.
Signs outside the Highbridge store also show the opening hours will be 8am-10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sundays.
Construction of the new 1,804 square-metre Aldi store and adjacent roads started in January.
An Aldi spokeswoman said: “Our new Highbridge store will create up to 30 jobs for the community.”
A mixture of part-time and full-time positions will be created – and the Highbridge store is using a recruitment website to promote the jobs.
Meanwhile, Travelodge’s upcoming hotel next to the Aldi store remains on track to open its new 75-bed new hotel on the site in October 2018.
Sedgemoor District Council approved plans for both the major developments last year.
As Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported here, Travelodge is to build a four-storey hotel with 75 bedrooms, 75 parking spaces, and a cafe/bar.
