Three cadets from Burnham and Highbridge’s 290 Air Squadron have gained the title of aircraft recognition champions of the south west for a third year in a row.
Andrew Beadle, 17, Dan Seaman, 16 and Matthew Way, 15 took the title after battling other squadrons’ from all over the south west of England in a closely matched competition at the cadet regional competition held at MOD Boscombe Down in Wiltshire.
Andrew told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This was a superb win for 290 and Devon and Somerset wing. It was really hard to come out on top, an excellent team performance and the highlight of my year.”
The team will now compete against five other regions from around Britain at a national competition to be held at RAF Museum London next month.
The squadron meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30pm-9.45 in Burnham. For more information call 01278 781409 during these times or click here.
