Proposals to build new affordable homes near Burnham-On-Sea will go on display this week.
Sedgemoor District Council and Brent Knoll Parish Council will be hosting a ‘Housing Project Drop in Session’ on Wednesday 15th November at Brent Knoll Parish Hall.
“Visitors will be able to gain an insight into the emerging housing proposals for land in Station Road in Brent Knoll,” says Claire Faun, council spokeswoman.
“These housing proposals have been established in an attempt the tackle the shortage of affordable housing and visitors will be able to offer the views and opinions on the current housing proposals.”
“Representatives from EG Carter & Co Ltd, South Western Housing Society, GCP Architects, Brent Knoll Parish Council, Sedgemoor District Councillors and members of Sedgemoor District Council’s Affordable Housing Team will be available to answer any questions.”
This event will run from 3.00pm until 7.00pm when local people who are struggling, or feel they will struggle to find a suitable home at a price they can afford are encouraged to attend and register for an affordable home.
Sedgemoor Housing Development Manager Duncan Harvey added: “Brent Knoll Parish Council have been trying to bring new affordable housing to the village for a while now.”
“We want local people to come along to find out about more about these exciting plans.”
“Tackling the shortage of truly affordable housing in Brent Knoll will have long-term community benefits long into the future. I would encourage anyone with a connection to the Parish, who feels they require suitably priced housing in Brent Knoll to come along to this event.”
If anyone would like further information on the event, or is unable to come along on the day and would like to talk to someone, they should contact the event organiser Esther Carter (Housing Project Development Officer) at Sedgemoor District Council on 01278 435599.
