St Andrew’s Church in Burnham-On-Sea is to hold a special service on Sunday (June 19th) to celebrate recovery from addiction when all will be welcome.
Following a month-long exhibition entitled ‘the art of recovery’, the 10am service on Sunday morning will include a specially compiled liturgy to recognise and celebrate the role of recovery from addiction to drugs alcohol or gambling.
Reverend Sharon Eldergill said: “Recovery from addiction is a life-saving intervention for all involved, releasing people from addiction and destructive behaviours, and enabling them to live transformed and restored lives.”
“It’s the stuff of salvation, and as a Church we are pleased to walk alongside people in their journey.”
“The service is for the whole community of Burnham-On-Sea and we hope it will be especially helpful for anyone who is or has been affected by addiction, either in their own lives, or in the lives of people they know and love.”
The service will be followed by coffee and cake in the church.
