A Burnham-On-Sea man convicted of sexually abusing two youngsters has been jailed for four years.
Clive Lumber, 59, of Ashcott Drive, carried out “an appalling course” of abuse on a boy and girl 20 years ago, Bristol Crown Court (pictured) heard on Thursday.
He was convicted of six counts of indecency with a child, six indecent assaults, one indecent assault on a male, two counts of causing cruelty to a child and one of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in a trial last month.
He was ordered to register for life as a sex offender. James Patrick, defending, told the court his client had lived a law-abiding life until he developed a medical condition and suffered from anxiety and depression which caused him to behave dishonestly and commit the offences for which he was convicted.
