Police were called to a ‘mass brawl’ involving a group of up to 20 people in Burnham-On-Sea early on Wednesday morning (December 27th).
Officers were called to Abingdon Street shortly after 1am when the disturbance started and several people were hurt.
Police spokesman Sam Malone told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called at 1.10am to Abingdon Street following reports of disorder involving a number of people.”
“Several people sustained injuries, which were not believed to be life-changing. There were no arrests, and our enquiries are continuing.”
One resident told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I live on Abingdon Street and it was horrendous what was going on – a huge fight that must have involved 15-20 people, mostly men, boys and a couple of girls. I had kids woken up by it who were frightened.”
Another resident added: “It was pretty scary – it went on for an hour.”
Police have asked for anyone with information to contact them on their non-emergency number 101.
