Burnham-On-Sea’s Abbeyfield assisted living complex celebrates Xmas

-

Residents at a Burnham-On-Sea assisted living complex have celebrated Christmas with a special carol service this week.

The Rev Steve Bennett with a number of his choir from Burnham Methodist Church led the residents of Abbeyfield Home and The Friends of Abbeyfield in singing a number of favourite carols.

Steve is pictured here with residents and friends of Abbeyfield Burnham and Highbridge.

“The average age of our local Abbeyfield home is close to 90 years and is a testament to their independent home status,” said Tom Ashton, a committee member of the organisation.

“They enjoy close links with the community including local churches, cafes, and town centre businesses.”

“Our grateful thanks go to Rev Steve Bennett, members of his church and The Friends of Abbeyfield, who provided refreshments after the Carol service.”

The eldest resident, Don, was 95 this week chatting to Don Newman, a neighbour who recently enjoyed his 92nd birthday.
