Deputy Mayor thanks group’s long-serving Chairman after 24 year stint

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Deputy Mayor Pauline Pollard was the special guest at a function to mark the retirement of a long-serving boss at a sheltered housing provider in the town.

A retirement party was held for Mike Baker, Executive Chairman at Abbeyfield, attended by residents, staff, committee members and volunteers.

A Service Award Certificate for 24 years in a variety of positions on the Executive Committee, plus a card signed by all and a holiday voucher, were presented by Nigel Brown, past Treasurer, in the absence of the present Chairman due to family commitments.

A delicious tea was served by Café Aroma staff and celebratory sparkling wine was served with the cake. Mr Baker said it was lovely to see so many friends and thanked everyone for their hard work over the years.
