The 20 year-old man who was seriously injured in a crash in Highbridge on Sunday night has died, police have confirmed.
The man, named as Jon Puddy from Berrow Road, suffered multiple life-threatening injuries in the accident on the A38 and was being treated in hospital.
However, police confirmed that he had sadly passed away on Tuesday (August 18th).
It comes after police placed signs at the site of the accident, appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information.
“Police are looking at CCTV pictures from the area and also want to talk to anyone who may have seen what happened,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0845 456 7000 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
As we reported earlier this week, Mr Puddy was seriously injured after his Volkswagen Golf struck a Ford Mondeo taxi heading towards Bridgwater.
Emergency services were called to the A38 Huntspill Road at 10.30pm on Sunday and the road remained closed for six hours until 4.30am on Monday.
Four fire crews from Bridgwater and Burnham, plus three ambulances, and numerous police teams were called to the scene and three people were taken to hospital for treatment.
Cutting equipment was used by the firefighters to remove the roof of the Golf to gain access to Mr Puddy.
