Police have appealed for help in gathering evidence about Sunday’s serious accident in Highbridge, which left a 20 year-old man fighting for his life in hospital.
Police signs have appeared at the scene of the crash on the A38 Huntspill Road, requesting the help of the public.
“Police are looking at CCTV pictures from the area and also want to talk to anyone who may have seen what happened,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0845 456 7000 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
As we reported earlier this week, 20 year-old driver Jon Puddy was seriously injured after his Volkswagen Golf struck a Ford Mondeo taxi heading towards Bridgwater.
“He remains in hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries to his head, chest and legs,” police spokesman Simon Whitby told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Emergency services were called to the A38 Huntspill Road at 10.30pm on Sunday and the road remained closed for six hours until 4.30am on Monday.
Four fire crews from Bridgwater and Burnham, plus three ambulances, and numerous police teams were called to the scene and three people were taken to hospital for treatment.
Cutting equipment was used by the firefighters to remove the roof of the Golf to gain access to Mr Puddy.
