Residents tell of shock after three-car crash on A38 in West Huntspill

-

Residents have spoken of their shock following a three-vehicle accident on the outskirts of Highbridge on Saturday afternoon (March 24th), which left one motorist with head injuries.

A lady was taken to hospital after a silver Citroen was involved with a collision with a vehicle and careered through a garden wall, as pictured here.

Fire, police and ambulance crews were called to the scene – outside the White Cottage Restaurant in West Huntspill – at 2.20pm.

Fire engines from Burnham-On-Sea, Bridgwater and Weston were sent to the scene and a lady was helped from a vehicle.

A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “On their arrival, the crews confirmed there was a female casualty, not physically trapped, still within one of the vehicles. The crews assisted the lady from the vehicle and left her in the hands of the ambulance service.”

Local resident Dave Reed, whose wall was demolished in the crash, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I was out in my garden, enjoying the good weather, when I saw the Citroen coming across the road towards me. I managed to rush round the corner of the house just in time before it went through our wall with a hell of a bang. We were relieved that no-one was seriously hurt.”
