These were the scenes on the A38 outside Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday evening (March 6th) after a serious accident closed the road for over two hours.
Burnham police taped off the busy road after a pedestrian crossing the road was knocked down by a passing vehicle.
An ambulance was called to the scene and the man was taken to Weston General Hospital, although police said his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
Police spokesman Ian Drury told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Friday morning (March 7th): “The road closed at 8.20pm and did not re-open until 10.30pm.”
“A car was in collision with a male, who was taken to Weston General Hospital with what were believed to be not life-threatening injuries.”
The road was sealed off while police officers gathered evidence at the scene and interviewed the vehicle driver.
