Photos: King Alfred School celebrates 100% A-level exams success
Students at Highbridge’s King Alfred School are celebrating today (Thursday) after receiving a superb set of A-level and AS level results.
100% of students gained success at A-level with 69% of the students achieving 1 A* – C grade and 18% of all grades achieved at A* and A grade.
Headteacher Denise Hurr said the results mark yet another year of excellent academic and personal achievements for its students.
She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are delighted with the outstanding success of our students A Levels results, particularly in Maths, Chemistry and Biology.”
“Excellent results were also achieved in History, English Literature, Psychology and Sociology.”
“We are pleased to see so many of our students achieving their places at a wide range of leading Universities.”
“Excellent individual performances include Rory Edwards A* A A A, Amy Rickwood A* A A, Jessica Pelling A* A B, Emily Bailey A* A B, Emily Cook A* A B, Andrew Duncan A B B, Charlie Hughes A A B, Sophie Daymond-Heuze A A B, Ashley Stearn A A B and Thrinayani Ramakrishnan A A B.”
“Students have secured top university places such as Oxford, Exeter, Kent, Sheffield, Leeds, Sussex, Cardiff, Southampton, UCL and Imperial College, London.”
“These results demonstrate that the School is continuing to provide high quality education to students in Burnham on Sea and Highbridge.”
