Sixth form students at Highbridge’s King Alfred School are today celebrating an outstanding set of A-Level results.
Pupils opened the envelopes containing their eagerly-awaited results at the school on Thursday morning (August 16th).
Many are now preparing to head off to a range of leading universities across the UK.
All subjects this year were examined under the new more challenging reformed A Level specification.
Excellent individual performances came from:
Freya Scott: A* A A, Psychology, Newcastle University
Vivien Aston: A* A B, Psychology, Edinburgh University
Shae Clements: A* A B, Zoology, Exeter University
Matthew Fry: A B B, Accounting and Finance, Exeter University
Imogen Wright: A B B, History, Leicester University
Denise Hurr, Headteacher, said: ”We are very proud of the excellent results achieved by our students who have all worked incredibly hard with the support of our school and their families.
“Their hard work has paid off with fantastic university and employment destinations. 71% of our sixth form students achieved 3 A levels at grade A* – E this year, an improvement from 52% last year.
“The number of students achieving at least 2 A levels at grade A* – E increased to 100% this year.”
