Stranded 4×4 pulled to safety on Burnham-On-Sea beach

-

A tractor was used to pull this 4×4 truck to safety after it became stuck in mud next to Burnham-On-Sea’s jetty on Sunday afternoon (September 21st).

Tractor owner Simon Stroud of the Burnham Boat Owners Association pulled the stricken vehicle up the beach at 4pm, as captured on these mobile phone photos.

“The vehicle owner, who is from Oxford, tried to launch his jet ski on the outgoing tide from near the bottom of the jetty without expecting the tide to go out so far,” Simon told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Fortunately, I was nearby and was able to winch him up the beach.”

It is the second incident on Burnham beach in recent weeks.

Burnham-On-Sea.com reported earlier this month how a van had become stuck in the mud at the same spot on September 9th.

There have been several vehicle rescues at the same spot in recent years.
