A fisherman was left in a sticky position when his 4×4 became trapped in mud on Burnham-On-Sea beach on Sunday afternoon (February 28th).
The Isuzu had been driven down the beach next to Burnham jetty to retrieve a fishing boat when it got into difficulty.
The vehicle’s wheels sank into the thick mud, as pictured here, and it was unable to move.
A local farmer’s tractor was brought onto the beach to haul the vehicle up the beach to safety using ropes.
Fortunately, the tide was going out at the time, but the incident serves as a fresh reminder about the dangers of driving on local beaches – and the ease at which vehicles can get stuck.
Last year, a dozen vehicles were rescued on Burnham-On-Sea, Berrow and Brean beaches after getting into difficulty.
