Over 40 volunteers turned out to support a beach clean in Berrow on Saturday morning (January 12th).
The group braved cold winds to collect plastic litter washed up along the tide line during the event, organised by The Friends of Berrow Beach.
One of the organisers, Sue Meads, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were delighted with the turnout of over 45 volunteers. Some stayed local and cleared over four bags of rubbish from the churchyard, village green and surrounding areas.
“From the beach we collected over 10 bags, including half a plastic large children’s car, a wheel, sleeping bag, cricket bat, plastic trays, fishing line with hooks, syringes, garden chair as well as the usual debris.”
“Our thanks goes to all our wonderful volunteers for their tremendous effort.”
