A Burnham-On-Sea personal fitness instructor is set to take on an 31-mile extreme fitness challenge to raise funds for charity.
Sonny Topham will be jogging and walking 345 laps of the Burnham Infants School Playground on Monday to help NHS Charities Together.
Sonny told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I said that I would find a replacement challenge for the London Marathon and ‘The School Playground Ultramarathon’ is it!”
“The goal is to complete 345 laps of the Burnham Infants School Playground.”
“The distance I am aiming to complete is 31 miles, or 50 kilometres.”
“I am going to hopefully be able to live stream the whole thing, starting at 9.15am and finishing around 2.45pm.”
“Throughout the challenge you’ll be able to donate to NHS Charities Together if you wish to. “
“I hope this challenge motivates and inspires all of you who watch it to do more with in your life – and raise loads of money as a community for the NHS.”
In 2017, we reported here that Sonny had completed a gruelling challenge by walking up and down Brean Down 100 times in a day to raise money for a children’s charity and inspire others to conquer their personal goals. He is pictured above during the fundraiser.
And in July 2018, we reported here how he took on the challenge of walking and running ten circuits of a 10-mile route in a day around Burnham, Highbridge and Brent Knoll for Children’s Hospice South West.
In September 2019, we reported here how he had completed 32 non-stop jogging and walking circuits of a 2.5-mile course around the top of Brean Down.
