Damage to a parking pay machine in Burnham-On-Sea’s Pier Street car park could cost £3,000 to get fixed.
The machine near to Burnham’s B&M store was damaged in an early morning incident earlier this month, confirms Sedgemoor District Council.
A spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our CCTV recordings show that at 2.40am on Thursday 13th June a person entered a vehicle parked in Pier Street car park, drove-off and collided with the ticket machine.”
“There were no other cars in the car park. The driver inspected the damage to his car and then drove away. We have not been contacted by the driver to date.”
“We are waiting on quotes for repair but as the casing appears to be bent it could be around £3,000.”
“The driver was one of a party of people crossing the car park at the time and the Council would welcome any information on the incident.”
