Over 180 people attended a fundraising evening with a coastal theme organised by Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge’s Mayor on Saturday night (February 16th).
Cllr Bill Hancock’s event raised a grand total of £3,322.48 shared between his three charities of the year – the rescue services BARB Search & Rescue and Burnham RNLI, plus Litter Free Coast & Sea Somerset.
Held at the Oaktree Arena in Highbridge, it included an auction and raffle, plus live music from local band Monopole. The mayor’s support of the charities ties in with his theme for the year, ‘clean and safe local Beaches’.
“It was a very successful evening and we thank everyone who came along or supported us,” he said. “We are delighted the event raised such a huge sum!”
The three groups have thanked all who attended for their support.
