A speeding Burnham-On-Sea motorist who was caught by Police travelling at more than 110mph on the M5 motorway has been disqualified from driving for 40 days.
Gary Ponting, of Winchester Road, was caught by Avon and Somerset Police driving at 113mph on the M5 between Burnham’s junction 22 and junction 23 for Bridgwater.
He was driving a T-reg Audi at the time of the offence in October last year.
Mr Ponting, 38, appeared at North Somerset Courthouse to face one count of speeding, on Friday. Magistrates disqualified him from driving for 40 days.
He was also fined £761 and ordered to pay £85 in legal costs plus a £76 surcharge to fund services for victims.
