Highbridge’s King Alfred School Academy is set to hold a special Sixth Form Open Evening tonight (Wednesday January 23rd) when the facilities and opportunities will be showcased.
An open invitation has been issued to the event, which takes place from 6-7.30pm.
The King Alfred School Academy’s Sixth Form achieved some of the best A Level results in the South West this past year.
The Academy is part of The Priory Learning Trust and produces high-achieving, happy students getting into some of Britain’s best universities.
“Our sixth form students are regarded as young adults and they are terrific role models for the younger members of our community,” said a spokesman to Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Sixth form students act as ambassadors, committee members and, if successful, become senior student leaders. We have an holistic approach in the sixth form and students benefit from a wide variety of experiences and opportunities.”
“These include exceptional care, guidance and support, a choice of over 25 courses, excellent progression to universities and employment, taking part in expeditions and international visits.”
“Also, we help our sixth formers get voluntary work in the community, work experience placements with local employers, a personal laptop for every student, and travel bursaries for out of catchment students.”
