A well-known face about Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge tied the knot on Sunday (September 5th).
PCSO Claire Chambers got married to long-time partner Shane at Puriton Church in front of a congregation of local residents, friends and family.
Claire has been working as a PCSO in the Burnham area for the past four years and has mainly looked after Highbridge, where she helps to run the town’s police pod and was instrumental in setting up the town’s Dreamscheme project.
Her parents, Inspector Alan Chambers and Sue Chambers, were happy that her special day went so well and that the weather stayed dry for the happy couple.
A reception was enjoyed at Batch Country Farm by family and friends, who attended from as far afield as Scotland and Cornwall.
Alan and Sue said that Claire initially met Shane at Chilton Trinity School and they have been together for eight years and have always been very committed.
Shane works as a Deputy Store Manager for Sainsbury’s in Bristol and Claire hopes to further her career as a police officer in due course. The couple are honeymooning in Cyprus.
Former Highbridge PCSO Gill Bawler, who took part in Sunday’s service, said: “It was a wonderful day, meticulously planned to perfection by Claire. Shane looked dashing and Claire looked stunning. It was an honour to give a reading and I know they will settle well into married life.”
Jason Adams, from Highbridge’s Dreamscheme, added: “Everyone at the Highbridge Dreamscheme would like to congratulate Claire and Shane Finch on their marriage.”
Earlier in the week, the group’s young members presented her with a card and flowers.
