Railway delays for Burnham commuters after person is struck on line

-

Train services were halted through Highbridge railway station on Tuesday evening after a person was struck.

First Great Western said its services were being replaced by buses between Bristol Temple Meads and Taunton.

It comes after a person has been struck by a train at Worle, near Weston-super-Mare. The incident caused rush-hour delays for commuters.

Crosscountry services were being diverted via Westbury, with journey times extended by up to 45 minutes. National Rail said passengers could use either CrossCountry or First Great Western services via any reasonable route.
