Staff at Sanders Garden World near Burnham-On-Sea have this week come to the rescue of a musical being staged at The Playhouse Theatre in Weston-super-Mare.
The garden centre has donated baskets full of cut and artificial flowers to Weston Operatic Society to help the crew of ‘My Fair Lady’ set the scene for their up-and-coming production.
Peter Burks, General Manager of the garden centre, explained: “We were delighted to help out when we heard the Society needed some extra flowers for a scene for its production of My Fair Lady.”
“Many of the team here at Sanders Garden World are big fans of the show so were more than happy to offer a ‘bloomin’ lovely’ helping hand.”
“The flowers will be used to decorate the stage during the scene in which the main character, Eliza Doolittle, sells flowers to the more prestigious folk of Covent Garden in London.”
The character of Eliza Doolittle is played by Stephanie Cuttell from Burnham-On-Sea. My Fair Lady will be performed at The Playhouse Theatre in Weston from October 27th until 30th.
