Members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Inner Wheel Club have this week presented a cheque for more than £1,500 to an appeal fund that provides intensive care cots for young children.
The group’s Immediate Past President, Sandra Squire, accompanied by President Janet Breed, Sue Newbery and Sandra Moon visited St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol where they handed over the money to Lauren Vincent and Sarah Vipond from the ‘Cots for Tots’ appeal.
The money was raised during Sandra’s charity as President and the money was matched by Barclays Bank.
Lauren Vincent, Community and Events Fundraiser at Cots for Tots, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are absolutely delighted by the fantastic fundraising done by the Inner Wheel Club of Burnham-On-Sea by choosing the Cots for Tots Appeal as their charity of the year for 2010.”
“Their dedication and commitment has raised an amazing £1,550, which is an excellent start to our fundraising campaign and will help us to provide four further intensive care cots and a family accommodation suite to ensure parents can be near their babies at such a difficult time.”
Sandra said the Club was very pleased to have been able to help such a worthwhile charity.
