A Burnham-On-Sea athlete competed in the Great Britain team at the World Duathlon Championships this week.
Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported in May how Martin Rogers, who works at Burnham Swim and Sports Academy, was selected to represent the country at the event in Edinburgh.
He was delighted to finish in 34th place out of 69 in his category.
Martin, pictured here, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a very challenging course, especially the bike route, which consisted of five laps of Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh, but it was a great experience to represent GB.”
There were 31 countries competing, including USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa and most European countries.
Martin won his place on the team after competing in the Cambridge qualifiers in May. The duathlon comprises a 10km run, a 40km bike ride and a further 5km run.
