New beach patrol truck goes into service on Burnham-On-Sea beach

-

Beach wardens in Burnham, Berrow and Brean now have a faster vehicle to patrol the coastline with.

A brand new truck, pictured, went into service this week and has already been used several times to caution holidaymakers venturing out into dangerous areas.

Beach wardens Jerry Stedman, John Davies and Jonathan Hoftgartner are pictured alongside the new vehicle, which will be on patrol between April and November.

District Council leader Duncan McGinty told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The old vehicle had become uneconomical to keep running. It was rusting and had several other problems – the new truck is bigger, cheaper, and quicker.”
