Fire crews called to property blaze in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Two fire crews were called to a fire in the garden of a Burnham-On-Sea property on Monday afternoon (October 4th).

Crews rushed to Severn Grove at 2.50pm and found a wheelie bin had caught fire, before the flames spread to a fence and the outside of two neighbouring properties.

Two fire engines from Burnham attended and firefighters extinguished the blaze using a hose reel jet.

“Slight damage was caused to the back doors and guttering of two other properties. The occupier had accidentally caught some tea towels on fire and these had been dampened down and left on top of wheelie bin. They then reignited and caused the fire,” fire spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
