A popular Burnham-On-Sea rock group will be performing a concert this weekend to raise money for a growing tennis academy.
The Ginger Hitlas will play at The Pier in Pier Street this Saturday (16th October) to raise cash for the Nathan Edwards Tennis Academy.
Organiser Sally Edwards from the Academy told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This will be the third fundraiser the group has done for is and we would like to thank them for their support and ask as many people as possible to come along.”
Entry on the door will cost £3 and there will also be raffles during the course of the evening.
The academy has had several successes this year, including most recently at a Talent ID day in Taunton. The youngsters were put through a number of physical tests to assess their athletic ability and tennis skills.
Young brothers Oliver and Thomas Punt (pictured) excelled. Thomas was allowed to take part despite being a year too young as the LTA talent co-ordinator Dave Kirby was keen to see him.
Since then, Dave has said he would like to work with both boys and our coaches to further develop their obvious potential.
