Actor John Cleese has given his backing to protesters fighting a wind farm on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea.
The actor’s mother used to live at Brent Knoll, close to where the wind turbines are planned, and this week he sent through his support to the KNOll to Wind farm Action Group.
John said: “I’m very sorry to hear about the proposed wind turbines. Surely, they should put a massive eyesore like this somewhere ugly, and not somewhere beautiful.”
Chris Evans, from the Action Group, who has been in contact with Mr Cleese, said: “It appears even someone as creative and innovative as a member of Monty Python cannot imagine these proposals being suitable for this location. These proposals appear to be beyond parody, and even beyond Python.”
