Residents and visitors to Burnham-On-Sea are getting an opportunity to have their say on the proposed partial pedestrianisation of the town’s High Street this week.
A public exhibition is being held at the former Thresher’s off licence shop in College Street for three days.
The exhibition is open to all throughout Friday 5th November and Saturday 6th November from 10am until 5pm each day.
Burnham’s Civic Pride Working Group hopes the scheme can be introduced by Easter – although the project was dealt a blow on Wednesday when Chamber of Trade members opposed the proposals, as first reported here.
Last month, Sedgemoor District Council’s Executive unanimously agreed that over £158,000 of funding can be spent on creating the pedestrian-only zone.
The project is promoted by Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade, Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, Sedgemoor District Council and Somerset County Council.
