Fundraisers at a Brean holiday park splashed the cash to raise over £1,000 for charity on Saturday (June 22nd).
Crowds of spectators attended the beach party-themed summer fete at Warren Farm Holiday Centre, held in aid of Cancer Research UK and Renegades Carnival Club, raising a total of £1078.99.
Mike Harris, director at the centre, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our summer fete was a great success and crowds of people turned up for a fun-filled day in aid of a very worthy cause, despite the less than sunny weather.”
“The dunk tank was very popular – people had the opportunity to throw balls at a target to try and get unlucky members of staff wet!”
“We’re thrilled to have raised £1078.99, which will be split between our main charity, Cancer Research UK and Renegades Carnival Club.”
The event took place at Warren Farm Holiday Centre’s clubhouse, The Beachcomber.
There were a range of stalls and games on offer including crazy golf, hook a duck, penalty shoot out, a surf board simulator and a tombola. Steel band, Caribbean Melody, played for people to enjoy and there was a barbecue as well.
Magic Luke also performed tricks and balloon modelling. Youngsters were able to have their faces painted and meet The Beachcomber’s pirate mascot, Captain Comber.
Warren Farm Holiday Centre offers a range of facilities for families, including arcade amusements, an indoor soft play area, a fishing lake, games field, outdoor play equipment and a Pets Corner.
Mike added: “Warren Farm makes a great day out and we have something for everyone. Why not bring the children along to enjoy the Play Barn, meet Danny the donkey in Pets Corner and stop for dinner at our clubhouse? We welcome families from the area to come and visit for the day, as well as customers who are staying with us on holiday.”
Another of the fundraisers, Darren Eastwood, was thanked for his involvement in organising some of the events. Darren iss currently growing his beard to raise money for Cancer Research.
