Police in Burnham have arrested three youths after damage was caused to paving stones at Marine Cove, near to the town’s Esplanade.
Earlier this month, we reported the damage in which paving slabs were pulled up and thrown into a nearby ornamental pond and onto some benches.
After extensive police enquiries by local beat manager PC Adrian Jones and reviewing of CCTV footage from the area, police arrested two 14-year-old boys and one 15-year-old boy.
All were arrested on suspicion of causing the criminal damage and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
PS Ian Kennett, based at Burnham Police Station, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There has been extensive police enquiries into the damage, which has been estimated at costing around £750.”
“This has included reviewing of CCTV footage and liaison with King Alfred School, which has taken up a considerable amount of police time.”
“The three youths involved have been interviewed by police and given bail until a date in July.”
