‘Breathtaking’ Burnham-On-Sea fireworks display this Sunday

-

Organisers of Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront fireworks display, which is being held this Sunday (November 7th), say spectators are in for a treat.

The 20 minute display, which starts at 7pm, will include several brand new fireworks never seen before in Burnham.

Lee Harvey, from Skyburst, the company that is running the event on behalf of the Town Council, told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the event promises to be “breathtaking”.

He explained: “It will be a stunning display – we’ve added several brand new water effects fireworks to the show this year, which will be fired into the sea. It will be the first time these have been used in Burnham.”

He added that the programme of classical, pop and film music will also accompany the dazzling fireworks, which will be fired from a scaffolding platform surrounded by sea water on the jetty.

The event will be free of charge, but the Rotary Club will be collecting during the evening for local charities and organisations.

The display is being funded by the Town Council with the financial support of several local businesses, including Central Radio Services, Laburnum House, Highbridge Caravans, Beachside Holiday Park, Retreat Caravan Park, Unity Farm and Newcombe Caravan Park.

Access onto Burnham jetty will be closed throughout the weekend to allow the scaffolding structure to be built.

The hugely popular annual event, which is often attended by thousands of spectators, is held on the night before Burnham’s annual winter carnival.
