Young Lexie Willetts was walking home with her mum Nichola after visiting a relative when she was followed last Friday.
According to Nichola’s husband, Neil, a man spotted the pair and began shouting at them before he chase after them between Old Burnham Road and their home in Stiling Close.
Nichola and Lexie rushed into the house but moments later, the man appeared outside kicking their gate and banging on their door while several men held him back. The man was eventually taken away in an ambulance without managing to get inside.
Inspector Roger Tolley, from Burnham Police, said several officers were sent to the property and the man was taken away for medical treatment as he was suffering from mental health issues. The incident is not being treated as a criminal case.
