Burnham-On-Sea Tae Kwon-Do club’s members head to regional finals

A team from Burnham-On-Sea’s Gemini Tae Kwon-Do Club are all set to prove that they are the best in the South West.

Students from Gemini Tae-Kwon-Do club, who train at Highbridge’s King Alfred School, are competing at this weekend’s South West Championships.

“Eager to show of their skills after their recent success at the TAGB’s Midland Championships, the students are keen to compete in the South West Championships being held in Weston-Super-Mare on Sunday,” said Senior Instructor Jane Lambert.

She added: “I’m very excited to see how everyone gets on this weekend! Everyone has been working hard and are eager to prove their worth at this local competition.”

“When took over teaching in Burnham the class was very small, now we’ve got five students entering these championships. We are very proud, and hope that they all enjoy the experience.”

Beverley Milner-Simonds, Isabelle Froggatt and Sarah Milner-Simonds are pictured with their trophies from the Midland Championships held on 31st January in Kettering.

Beverley was 3rd in the Ladies Heavy Weight Sparring, Isabelle was 2nd in the Girls Heavy Weight Sparring and Sarah came 3rd in the Ladies Middle Weight Sparring.

Classes are held at King Alfred School on Tuesday and Thursday evenings when men, women and children of all abilities are welcome.
