A Burnham-On-Sea mental health charity will be formally opening its new premises today (Tuesday).
In Charley’s Memory – which was set up following the death of Burnham teenager Charley Marks in 2014 – is launching at the Manor House in Burnham’s Manor Gardens.
An official opening will be held by Ben McGrail of BBC Somerset, who will be cutting a ribbon to open the premises, which will offer training courses and support.
The launch comes after a huge fundraising campaign over the past 18 months when grants have also been given by from Burnham and Highbridge Town Council and Sedgemoor District Council.
“We aim to help remove the stigma around mental health and support young people and their families, so their well-being improves,” said the group’s Joanna Burridge-Clayton.
“In Charley’s Memory was started in response to the death of Charley, our founder’s son. Charley took his own life in September 2014 after years of battling with the invisible illness of mental health conditions.”
