Burnham-On-Sea has been basking in Mediterranean temperatures this week as forecasters predict the heatwave is set to continue.

These were the scenes on Tuesday evening (July 9th) when a calm high tide attracted paddle boarders and swimmers to Burnham’s beach for a cool-off.

Paddle boarder Lorna Evans told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The conditions are just perfect at the moment – calm seas and warm temperatures. It’s just so relaxing. There aren’t many days each year in Burnham when you can do this!”

Monday’s maximum temperature was 29.4C (84.9F) which is currently the hottest day of the year in the Burnham area. The record in recent years was 30.8C set in July 2009. The Met Office says the good weather is set to last into next week.
