Thousands of starlings formed the shape of a heart over the Somerset Levels in this remarkable picture taken by a local reader.
Khi Deva took the photo at Ham Wall Nature Reserve and says has been tracking Somerset’s starlings for over seven years – but has never seen anything like this before.
“They often murmur high in the sky but this shot was harder to capture as the starlings were murmuring at warp speed horizontally across the levels and for a split second only they suddenly formed this perfect Starling Heart!” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“I felt it was their spectacular Valentine gift that shows how truly magical they really are,” she added.
