Job seekers in the Burnham-On-Sea area are being encouraged to attend a recuitment fair in the town today (Tuesday, February 16th).
The free event will be aimed at local residents who are looking for a job or who are considering a change of employment, or who want more information about improving their employment prospects.
Sedgemoor District Council is holding the Recruitment Fair at the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre in Princess Street between 10.30am and 12.30pm and also 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
The council has organised a wide range of local employers and organisations to showcase jobs on offer for local people, as well as apprenticeships and training opportunities.
A range of employers including the EDF Energy Hinkley Point C Jobs Service, RAF Careers, Laing O’Rourke, Somerset Care, Mulberry, Notaro Care Homes, Brean Play, Roadchef, McDonalds and 1610 will be on-hand to discuss career opportunities and many will have details of current vacancies. Over 100+jobs will be advertised on the day!
Bridgwater College will also be available to discuss how you could enhance your skills for future employment opportunities.
A spokesperson for Sedgemoor District Council said: “Our 2015 Recruitment Fair held in Burnham was such a great success we wanted to hold another. Last year 300 job seekers attended, 125 jobs were advertised and six job seekers were offered jobs there and then. We are hoping this year’s event is just as successful. There is no need to pre-book just come along to one of the sessions and see how we can help you.”
