Brent Knoll garden centre’s pedal power helps Children In Need

-

Staff at Sanders Garden World in Brent Knoll raised nearly £200 for Children in Need by holding a sponsored exercise bike cycling event.

Thirteen members of staff rode 105 miles during the course of a day during the static cycle ride at the garden centre.

General Manager Peter Burks told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The fundraising idea was suggested by Paul Smith, who is a kitchen assistant from our restaurant, and was organised by our Till Operator, Val Flack.”

“The bike was provided by Esporta in Weston and thanks to sponsorship from colleagues and customers, we have so far raised £187.33 and are still collecting money.”

Peter added: “They rode non-stop for eight hours in half hour stints and covered on average 13 miles per hour. I would like to congratulate everyone who was involved and took part.”
