Former X Factor winner Shayne Ward delighted a Burnham-On-Sea youngster by inviting her on stage to perform with him.
Eight year-old Burnham-On-Sea girl Rhianna Smith went along to watch a gig at the Blake Hall in Bridgwater, when the unexpected invite occurred.
Shayne won the X Factor in 2005 and is currently starring in ITV’s Coronation Street.
Rhianna’s mum Nicky told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “As I am disabled, not able to stand for a length of time due to a broken knee replacement, we had seats at the front direct to the stage.”
“Shayne came on a little later than scheduled, but to our surprise came down to us, started to sing a ballad whilst singing to Ella, my twin’s friend whom we had taken along, then asked her to join him on stage.”
“Ella was too shy, so knowing how confident Rhianna is, I said she would, so he took hold off Rhianna, led her on stage and sang the rest of ‘No Promises’ to her, whilst bending down on one knee looking at her, followed by cuddles whilst she hugged into her idol!”
“He was so good to her and us – it was an amazing experience. He also gave Rhianna a rose, and posed for a photo with Ella and Rhianna’s twin sister Emily.”
