Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor and MP welcome new arrival to the Royal family

Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor and MP have welcomed the news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have become the proud parents of a healthy baby boy.

The couple’s son weighed 8lb 6oz and was born yesterday at 4.24pm at St Mary’s Hospital in London.

Mayor Martin Cox told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I am delighted to hear the wonderful news from London.”

“I am sure the residents of Burnham and Highbridge will join me in wishing William and Kate our very best wishes. I wish them and their son all happiness and good health for the future.”

Burnham-On-Sea’s MP Tessa Munt said: “This is lovely news. I am very pleased for the whole family, and hope they all enjoy some privacy during his young life.”

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Somerset County Council, Cllr David Fothergill, said in a statement: “I would like to offer the congratulations and best wishes of all the people of Somerset to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their son. I hope he brings them a lot of joy.”
