Burnham theatre show will follow Margaret Thatcher’s rise to power

-

Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher will be the focus for a unique theatrical performance in Burnham-On-Sea this May.

Historian Lesley Smith has built a reputation for portraying the ‘Woman Who Shaped Britain’ with academic excellence and a wealth of experience.

Performing as Margaret Thatcher is the latest incarnation for the historian who has developed a following for her representations of historical figures such as Mary Queen of Scots, Boudicea and Anne Boleyn.

“Whatever your political persuasion this evening will provide a gripping portrayal of the ‘Path to Power’ from a renown historian, with a excellent sense of humor,” she said.

The evening will be held at 7pm on May 3rd at Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre.

Inspired by the autobiography ‘The Path to Power’, the audience will hear her take Thatcher’s journey to 10 Downing Street, using entirely the words of the late PM.

Tickets for this one night only unique theatrical performance are on sale at £14 (£12 for Trade Union members).

Price includes a welcome drink and tickets are available from the Princess Theatre & Arts Centre Box Office on 01278 784464 or from www.princesstheatreandartscentre.co.uk.

Lesley Smith is Curator of Tutbury Castle in Staffordshire and essentially an English Reformationist Medical Historian. She holds an Honorary Degree for “Services to History”. Recognised as an authority in her field, she has lectured across the world including the Royal Society in Edinburgh for The Scottish Parliament, The Royal Society of Medicine, The Royal College in London and Cambridge University Medical School, making over 300 public performances a year. She is a member of the Association of Medical Writers and has 30 academic publications in her name.
