Sedgemoor Ramblers celebrate their 40th anniversary at Burnham event

-

A local group of ramblers celebrated the 40th anniversary of their organisation at a special event in Burnham-On-Sea on Friday evening (March 4th).

Members of Sedgemoor Ramblers gathered at Burnham-On-Sea Community Centre in Berrow Road to raise a glass to mark four decades of organising social walks.

“This is a special milestone for us – 40 years is a long time. Over the years we have grown to 150 members,” said Chairman Tony Fawle.

“We meet for walks every week and also hold mid-week walks in the summer months too across Sedgemoor and also in the Mendips, Exmoor and further afield.”

The group is currently busy planning a Quantock Walking Festival, which will take place on June 11th and 12th.

There will be 40 miles of walks to celebrate the 40 years, starting from Nether Stowey with six different walks over two days taking place. More details here.
