A fortnight-long Christmas tree festival has opened in Burnham-On-Sea with a dozen sparkling trees on display.
St Andrew’s Church is holding the seasonal festival, along with a display of its life-size crib, every day until Christmas Eve.
On Saturday evening (December 11th) more than 50 people attended a special ceremony to formally light-up the colourfully-decorated trees, which are sponsored by a dozen local firms.
Entry by members of the public to the tree festival is free, although donations are being encouraged for The Children’s Society.
Organiser Richard Allen told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The trees look wonderful this year and will be lit right up to Christmas Eve.”
The church is open for the festival every day from 10am-4pm, except Sundays, in the run-up to Christmas. The trees have been decorated with unique decorations according to the sponsoring company.
