Burnham-On-Sea’s MP, David Heathcoat-Amory, visited the town’s controversial Frank Foley Parkway at the weekend amid renewed efforts to find a solution.
The MP held talks with county council bosses last week in a bid to push forward the completion of the unfinished road, which should run between Burnham’s Love Lane and Highbridge’s Pepperall Road.
“We went through the situation in detail with a map and had a good discussion,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“But no-one at a county level will act to get this road completed, which is unacceptable.”
“It goes against environmental, road safety and basic planning principles to have two fast-growing communities separated by this road.”
Mr Heathcoat-Amory walked along the strip of land running between the uncompleted ends of the road with town councillor Arthur Thorogood.
Further pressure is to be placed on the county council to find a solution in the coming weeks.
