Burnham-On-Sea RNLI’s lifeboat fundraising appeal has been given a £2,000 boost.
During a personal visit to the RNLI’s station in Pier Street on Friday evening, the Freemasons from Burnham-On-Sea presented Chairman Ashley Edwards with a cheque for £1,000.
And Somerset Freemasons match-funded the donation, making a total of £2,000 towards the new D-Class lifeboat appeal fund.
Somerset Freemasons’ John Chinn said: “We are pleased to support our local RNLI who do such stirling work.”
Chairman Ashley Edwards thanked the group, saying: “We thank you for this wonderful donation, which will ultimately be responsible for saving lives at sea. The community has been very supportive of our appeal, and this will truly be a Burnham lifeboat.”
