Police have arrested a man in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault which took place in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea last month.
The incident occurred during the early hours of July 14th in an alleyway in Pier Street next to the Toycupboard newsagents, as first reported here.
Police spokesman Martin Dunscombe confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “A 31 year-old male has been arrested and is helping police with their enquiries.”
Forensic teams from the police’s scientific investigations team were at the scene for several hours gathering evidence, as pictured here.
